Tiaras are hats, too

October 10, 2006

Nothing cuts through the gloom quite like a virtual party thrown in your honour – Meghan, Jenn and Jenny of Mommybloggers.com are celebrating all things Bad Mother this week and damn if it doesn’t make me feel good. Check out the decidedly non-roasty round of toasts that some of you beautiful people made, and their interview with me, and, later today, a very special Her Bad Mother post.

(And, while you’re there, do leave your best wishes for Jenn, who had a health scare this past week.)

And to the reader who wanted the contact info for the Basement: send posts or questions to herbadmother@gmail.com

Wow, that is SO nice! See how special you are — a blog party! In your honour! Great idea. You deserve it! :) Hope you’re feeling better.

ooooeee. that is so nice. i left a comment too–consider it my way of feeling you up online.

hope you are feeling like you are coming out of the gloom. with everything you’ve been up to lately, it seems understandable that you might need to crash for a while. otherwise you are likely freak-woman with a questional speed habit.

    take care, lovey.

Hi, i was looking over your blog and didn’t
quite find what I was looking for. I’m looking for
different ways to earn money… I did find this though…
a place where you can make some nice extra cash secret shopping.
I made over $900 last month having fun!
    make extra money

You ARE all that, and I hope you know it.

I’m e-mailing Oprah. You will be on her couch.

    CrankMama October 10, 2006 at 11:01 pm

After your willingness and courage to dive into the feminism debate, you deserved some sweet love!

    Thanks for all you do.

    Great interview!

Your comments about how blogging has affected your friendships was interesting. I like having met all these great people on the web, and also do most of my web stuff late at night, when I can’t leave the house to see folks anyway. Sometimes, SwingDaddy and I cruise the web side by side, companionably. What a geeky household. We’re hopeless.

    Momish October 11, 2006 at 9:39 am

Congratulations on the well deserved recognition!

    Jenny October 11, 2006 at 9:39 am

That’s so awesome! All hail HBM!

Rock the Cradle October 11, 2006 at 1:25 pm

I love the story of your name. I aspire to that sort of bad motherdom myself.

    Congratulations on the interview!

Mrs. Chicky October 11, 2006 at 1:52 pm

WhooHoo! Congratulations to you. I think you’re setting a fine example for the future ruler of the world by being the future ruler of the blogging world, North American parent chapter. Great interview!

    LoriLaurieLauri October 11, 2006 at 3:56 pm

I just found your blog for the first time…I like reading it because everything just comes out all flowey and stuff. Like one long stream of consciousness. Like how I ‘think out loud’. And it’s funny and smart, and you’re not afraid to admit you don’t know all the answers.

Oh…and the picture of your daughter, who must be squealing with glee while wearing her hat!

    Chantal October 11, 2006 at 4:04 pm

    Great interview!

You know, some of my friends dont’ get the blogging thing. They wonder where I get the time with four kids etc… Really, the writing takes all of five minutes for me. And yeah, it’s a break, a release. And very therapeutic.

    tracey October 11, 2006 at 10:39 pm

OMG!I feel like a celeb! You casually mentioned something I posted on Mother May in your interview. I’m swooning right now.

Loved hearing what you had to say girl. You rock it.

    GIRL'S GONE CHILD October 11, 2006 at 11:33 pm

    Wooooohoo!!! GO HBM!

    TB October 13, 2006 at 9:24 am

It was a really great interview, both the questions and the answers. And I am reminded again by the stunning amount of talent available to me every day, simply by perusing my blogroll.
