Rock, Rock, Rock ‘N Roll Nursery

November 4, 2006

Moments later, she was body-surfing the mosh pit.

Today was a good day. Rocktastic, as a certain friend of mine would say.

Just thought that I’d share.

(By the way… I’m wondering if this picture should maybe replace the iconic Mutha Sucka Baby pic that we currently use as our virtual calling card. What do you think?)

Amy Jo November 4, 2006 at 9:16 pm

I think that pic would be great!

something blue November 4, 2006 at 9:26 pm

Classic! I think it’s the one.

    lara November 4, 2006 at 9:34 pm

oh my goodness, i almost choked on my thai chicken pizza when i saw that picture. hi-larious!

    Mary-LUE November 4, 2006 at 9:35 pm

It could go up in honor of CBGB’s closing!

Oh, The Joys November 4, 2006 at 9:43 pm

I vote for the new picture… though I like the Almodovar one too…hmm.

    krista November 4, 2006 at 11:07 pm

    Yeah! Switch it up.

    Momish November 4, 2006 at 11:08 pm

Too adorable! I am torn, I love them both! But, this picture is just classic!

    Mayberry November 4, 2006 at 11:12 pm

I do love Motha Sucka, but the new pic is excellent too–and more current, so there you go.

    Glad you’re feeling better!

    Chag November 4, 2006 at 11:22 pm

I vote for the new pic.

    hautemama November 4, 2006 at 11:52 pm

    Motha Sucka rules!

    MotherBumper November 4, 2006 at 11:53 pm

That pic is the best – evah! Use it!!! I wish I had been there (damn fates working against us – grrrrr).

Sarah, Goon Squad Sarah November 5, 2006 at 12:41 am

    Rock on Wonderbaby! Rock on!

    Lady M November 5, 2006 at 1:59 am

Much, much cuter than Edvard Munch.

ewe are here November 5, 2006 at 5:20 am

While the pink shirt and cheeky grin will be missed, this new pic is destined to be a classic. Go for it!

    kittenpie November 5, 2006 at 9:29 am

Oh, I like it. Can you maybe lighter it up a bit so it’s clearer in the tiny profile-sized version? This was in front of a photo, or did you just photoshop her in?

Her Bad Mother November 5, 2006 at 9:57 am

This was in front of a giant screen photo, at the dance party. The full version shows her little leg-warmered legs in full punk air-kick. It also, however, shows my arm and the top of my head, both of which are far less interesting.

    DD November 5, 2006 at 10:09 am

That picture was able to pull my son away from the TV to come over and ask to see it bigger.

It might tell you something if I said he was 4 and was watching spongebob.

    mothergoosemouse November 5, 2006 at 11:03 am

    I. LOVE. IT.

It kills me that I never made it to CBGB, but at least WonderBaby got there. And yes, as much as I love the “Mutha Sucka” pic, WonderBaby has outgrown it.

    crazymumma November 5, 2006 at 11:35 am

chewin’ out a rhythm on ma bubble gum
sun is out and I want some
its not hard not far to reach
you can hitch a ride to ‘Wonderbaby’ beach…..

Sorry, Joey’s voice just sang it in my head.

Sure, change it up…she is willing you to….

    Jezer November 5, 2006 at 11:50 am

    Effin’ LOVE that photo!!!

    m November 5, 2006 at 4:12 pm

Lucky! Bunch Family Dance Party sounds awesome. Wishing we had that in Vancouver.

I, too, vote for the new pic.

    CrankMama November 5, 2006 at 4:13 pm

I am SO envious. Family Dance Party?? The only FDP we experience is the one in our kitchen (usually to Michael JAckson “Thriller” selections)…

I love this pic of WB, but I SOO adore “mutha sucka”.. too bad you can’t have both as your calling card.

    Heather November 5, 2006 at 4:45 pm

What a helarious picture! I am not sure anything is quite as cool as your calling card! However, this one does run a close second!

    Pattie November 5, 2006 at 4:52 pm

OK…I love the Mutha Sucka one but this is pretty cute, too!

Wow, that Family Dance Party sounds so fun! A milk and juice bar? Stroller valet? *LOL*
How cute is that! Glad you had a good day.Oh, and I hope you are feeling better :)

    gingajoy November 5, 2006 at 5:08 pm

yeah–that would make a good icon;-)

just read your previous post. sorry to hear you are dying.

seriously–hope you get well and got some meds to help you fight the pestilence.

    Kristi November 5, 2006 at 6:50 pm

Mutha Sucka gets me every time.

    T. November 5, 2006 at 9:44 pm

    Rockin’ picture.

But then I always knew the Wonderbaby rocked.

And very glad to hear you’re not dying.

    At least not yet.

    sweatpantsmom November 5, 2006 at 9:50 pm

Great pic. It gets my vote.

(I just checked out your link to Bunch Family. Too cool. I wish they had something like that in L.A.)

    Lisa b November 5, 2006 at 9:57 pm

now that I know there are legwarmers my vote is for the new shot

metro mama November 5, 2006 at 11:15 pm

I love it! She just needs a lighter.

Annie, The Evil Queen November 6, 2006 at 1:02 am

This is a great picture. I fully support the update. Hope you are feeling better soon, incidently.

    Dana November 6, 2006 at 1:05 am

The Wonder Baby….she is too cute for words….!

    Lotta November 6, 2006 at 2:54 am

    That’s the album cover!

Gooby Baby November 6, 2006 at 9:39 am

Aww…..I like the Mutha Sucka one :) PS: She didn’t really body-surf right ? lol

    Jenny November 6, 2006 at 10:13 am

    Rock-star…all the way.

    Anonymous November 6, 2006 at 12:25 pm

It’s a very cute picture – but I didn’t realize it was YOUR baby. I thought it was a boy. But that’s probably just me…

    nomotherearth November 6, 2006 at 12:31 pm

    Love it! Rock on, baby.

    Juliness November 6, 2006 at 12:34 pm

Awesome picture! Both of them, actually.

    wordgirl November 6, 2006 at 12:48 pm

Well…Mutha Sucka has served you faithfully and well…but this pic would be a perfect update. Really.

Her Bad Mother November 6, 2006 at 3:45 pm

    A boy! Gah! Ack!

It’s the hair. When she gets more hair she’ll look like a girl. In the meantime, I refuse to do that ribbon-headband-sticky-bow thing.

    Stacy November 6, 2006 at 6:08 pm

That’s a great pic, but I think you should stick with Mutha Sucka- It’s a classic!

    Haley-O November 6, 2006 at 9:06 pm

I LOVE this pic! She’s so adorable. I think I’m liking the mutha sucka pic better for the avatar. But there are other recent ones that would make good avatars if you want a new one. This one just looks to dark for an avatar — or maybe it’s my browser.

    Waya November 7, 2006 at 12:35 am

That sounds like a fun party, milk and juice bar to boot?! That sounds delish!! That pix is just too cute!! Can I pinch her cheeks, please?

    mo-wo November 7, 2006 at 4:01 am

Miss Fancy is finally getting the hair at age two.. and we never did the sticky bow thing. It was like living with a little Sinead OConner here at times — huffy girls.

Use the pic. Use the pic. I love it. Glad you had a good time ; bit overdue.

    Kristen November 7, 2006 at 3:20 pm

If you are looking to replace, that is the one- but I do love the Mutha Sucka!

petite gourmand November 8, 2006 at 1:01 pm

    this pic rocks..
but I will miss the little mutha sucka.

    Mom101 November 8, 2006 at 5:30 pm

I vote for this one! Especially if you can tell me what OMFUG stands for (hehe)
