This is where Emilia and I are today. Yoho National Park, British Columbia. I grew up in this province. My family camped around Yoho and Banff and Jasper when I was growing up, and the landscape is as familiar to me as the faces of my children. And so sharing it with my children – well, one of them – makes my heart swell and ache a little.
We are so far away from here. I chose that. Usually, I’m happy with that. Today, I’m not so sure.
